Highlights
At just 25.3 lbs — one of the lightest folding power chairs available. The carbon fiber frame is dramatically lighter than aluminum alternatives of the same class, making the Carbon8 easy to lift, load, and manage on your own without a second person.
Dual 150W brushless motors with automatic electromagnetic braking. Smooth, responsive driving up to 3.73 mph, and the brakes engage automatically the moment you release the joystick — confident, hands-free stopping on ramps, curb cuts, and uneven ground.
Folds to just 12 inches wide — fits where most power chairs can't. The 28" × 12" × 27" folded profile slides into car trunks, hotel closets, and tight storage spaces that other folding chairs simply won't clear.
24V 10Ah lithium battery — more capacity per battery than most chairs in its weight class. Up to 10 miles of range per charge with the ability to add a second battery, and the IP24-rated splash-resistant frame means light rain and everyday outdoor use aren't a concern.
Flip-up armrests make every transfer easier, every single time. Press the lock button, flip the armrest up, transfer from the side or the front — then press it down and hear the click. A detail that matters every time you sit down or stand up.

Carbon8 Folding Power Wheelchair — At Just 25 lbs, a Carbon Fiber Frame That Goes Everywhere You Do
The Carbon8 Folding Power Wheelchair is built for people who need serious, reliable powered mobility but refuse to accept a chair that weighs them down. At just 25.3 lbs without the battery, the Carbon8 is one of the lightest folding power wheelchairs available — built on a genuine carbon fiber frame that's strong and rigid at a fraction of the weight of steel.
Where most power chairs force you to choose between capability and portability, the Carbon8 delivers both. Dual 150W brushless motors provide smooth, responsive drive with automatic electromagnetic braking. The chair folds to just 28" × 12" × 27" — thin enough to slide into spaces other power chairs never reach.

Carbon Fiber Frame — Strong, Rigid and Remarkably Light
The Carbon8's frame is built from genuine carbon fiber — the same material used in aerospace, performance vehicles, and high-end sporting equipment. Carbon fiber is exceptionally strong for its weight, meaning the Carbon8's frame can handle the demands of daily use without the bulk. At 25.3 lbs without the battery, this chair can be lifted, carried, and loaded by most users without requiring a second person. That independence extends the chair's value well beyond what you'd get from an aluminum or steel-framed alternative at the same price point.
Two independent 150W brushless motors power the Carbon8 with smooth, efficient performance across everyday surfaces — hardwood floors, pavement, textured concrete, and gentle inclines up to 10 degrees. Brushless motors run cooler and more efficiently than older brushed designs, translating to longer motor life and more consistent daily performance. The electromagnetic braking system is fully automatic: the moment you release the joystick, the brakes engage and hold the chair in position without any additional input. On ramps, curbs, or sloped sidewalks, that automatic hold gives you confidence on terrain where other chairs can slip or roll unexpectedly.
Folds to 12 Inches Wide — Fits Where Other Power Chairs Simply Don't
When folded, the Carbon8 measures 28" L × 12" W × 27" H — a 12-inch depth that slides into most car trunks, fits behind a standard door, and stores in spaces that rule out wider folding chairs. To fold, turn off the power, fold the footrests up 90°, then lift the seat rods upward from both sides. The frame collapses left-to-right into a slim, manageable profile. Two carry handles located under the seat cushion make lifting even easier. Standing the folded chair upright on its rear supports — no need to lay it on its side during loading.
Folded: 28" × 12" × 27" · handles built in · stands upright
24V 10Ah Lithium Battery · IP24 Splash-Resistant · Up to 10 Miles Per Charge
The Carbon8 runs on a 24V 10Ah lithium battery that delivers up to 10 miles of range on a single charge — and the battery is designed to be used or upgraded. You can charge it in two ways: through the charging port on the joystick controller while the battery remains installed in the chair, or by removing the battery entirely and charging it separately at a desk, counter, or anywhere convenient. The chair's IP24 rating means it can handle light rain and splash exposure during outdoor use without damage to the electrical components — a meaningful distinction from chairs rated for indoor use only.

5-Speed LED Joystick Controller — Full Chair Control from One Hand
The Carbon8's LED joystick controller handles everything from a single panel: power on/off, 5-speed gear selection (increase and decrease), a horn, battery level display, and the main directional joystick. The joystick itself is the primary interface — push forward to move forward, backward to reverse, left or right to turn. The further you push from center, the faster you travel; release completely and the chair stops and holds. The controller also includes a charging port for offboard battery charging. Two joystick controllers are included with every Carbon8, making it easy to configure for either hand or to have a spare available.

Flip-Up Armrests — Side and Front Entry, Every Time
Transferring into and out of a power chair is one of the most common daily friction points — the Carbon8 addresses it directly. Both armrests flip fully upward: press the lock button below the armrest, lift it up, and the chair opens for side or front entry. When you're seated and ready, press the armrest back down until you hear the audible click confirming the lock has engaged. This mechanism is especially valuable for users who transfer from a bed, sofa, toilet, or vehicle seat multiple times daily. No fumbling, no extra steps — just a consistent, predictable process every time.

Complete setup, operation, safety, and maintenance guide. Covers installation, folding, joystick operation, battery charging, and full warranty terms.
The Carbon8 weighs 25.3 lbs without the battery and 28.6 lbs with it installed. The carbon fiber frame keeps the weight down without sacrificing load-bearing strength — the chair still supports up to 300 lbs.
The Carbon8 supports users up to 300 lbs. The carbon fiber frame is designed to handle everyday use well within that capacity range. For riders up to 400 lbs, the Sky Hawk is the heavy-duty option at 64 lbs with batteries.
The Carbon8 delivers up to 10 miles of range on a full charge using the included 24V 10Ah battery. A second battery can be added to extend your range further. Actual range varies based on rider weight, terrain, speed, temperature, and battery condition.
To fold the Carbon8: turn off the power, rotate the foot pedals up 90°, then lift the seat rods upward from both sides — the frame collapses left-to-right. The folded dimensions are 28" L × 12" W × 27" H. At 12 inches wide, it fits in most car trunks and many tight storage spaces. Two carry handles under the seat cushion make lifting easier.
Yes. The Carbon8 includes a manual push mode: switch the brake handle to the manual position and the wheels are freed for attendant-assisted pushing. When the brake handle is set to the electric position, the electromagnetic brakes are active and the chair cannot be pushed manually.
The Carbon8 carries an IP24 rating, which means it is splash-resistant and can handle light rain and outdoor use without damage to electrical components. It is not rated for submersion or heavy rain. We recommend avoiding prolonged water exposure.
Press the lock button located beneath the armrest, then flip the armrest upward. This opens the chair for side or front entry — useful for transfers from a bed, sofa, car seat, or toilet. When you're ready to lower the armrest, press it back down until you hear an audible click confirming the lock has engaged.
The Carbon8 includes a tiered manufacturer's warranty: 3 years on the frame, 1 year on the motor, battery, charger, controller, and display screen, and 6 months on tires and other non-critical components. Elevate Home Mobility's team is here to support you through any warranty process.
